SPLINTER CELL: Conviction Delayed Giving The Mojo Back To Sony

According to the recent announcement made by Ubisoft, Splinter Cell: Conviction has joined the ranks of highly anticipated titles that will not be playable until 2010. Ubisoft also made mention that the new IP, I AM ALIVE and Ghost Recon 4 will also be delayed until 2010.
“We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot
As an Xbox 360 exclusive, Splinter Cell: Conviction was considered one of the sure fire titles that would be available in 2009 to fend off the PS3 exclusive onslaught. However as PS3 exclusives like God of War 3, Heavy Rain and now possibly MAG received 2010 release dates the Xbox 360 exclusive line-up began to look more attractive. Now without Splinter Cell: Conviction in the 2009 Xbox 360 line-up, just how attractive does the Xbox 360 exclusive line-up look for the rest of the year?
BUNGIE:HALO REACH WILL BE THE FINAL HALO GAME

For 10 years, the Halo franchise has without a doubt been at the forefront of the first person shooter genre. Gamers can all agree that this is a long time to work on a single franchise and it is time to put Master Chief in the well deserved retirement home.
Bungie senior designer Lars Bakken was quoted as saying, “After Reach that’s it for us. We’re already working on a new IP that we can’t talk about yet, I don’t know when we’ll be talking about it — when we’re ready I suppose.”
HALO: ODST Not A True HD Title

According to 360 Gamer, Bungie has confirmed that HALO: ODST will unfortunately not run at 720p. As explained by Lars Bakken, Bungie senior designer, HALO: ODST will run at the same resolution as HALO 3 which ran at 1152×640.
“You know, there weren’t a lot of technical refinements that were made,”
“There are a few little ones here and there, but for the most part, it really came down to the engine and the tool set being done when we first started working on it.”
When asked if HALO: ODST would run less than 720p he replied, “yes exactly.”
Of course this shouldn’t hinder HALO: ODST enthusiasts from experiencing this new title. As we all know the true essence ultimately comes down to the gameplay experience. Eventhough HALO: ODST is not a true HD title, let’s hope it offers a true next-gen experience.
