XBox 360 Breaks Down Five Times More Than The PS3

According to a 5,000 reader survey conducted by the ever-popular video game publication GAMEINFORMER, the Xbox 360 has an unbelievable failure rate of 54.2 percent (No, this is not a misprint). On the competitor comparison side of the equation, the PS3 failure rate reported at 10.6% while the Wii failure rate reported at 6.8 percent.
So, for every one million Xbox 360’s and PS3’s sold, more than 540,000 Xbox 360’s will unfortunately break down and just over 100,000 PS3’s will have the same fate.
A 54.2% failure rate almost seems impossible, however, just about everyone surveyed had unfortunately been introduced to the Red Ring Of Death (RROD) or E74 error while operating their Xbox 360.
The Consumerist also writes;
Microsoft also seized the gold medal for unhelpful customer service, taking nearly a month to repair or replace a console, while Nintendo and Sony stuck closer to a week. Only 37.7 percent of Microsoft customers found the company’s customer service was “very helpful,” compared to 51.1 percent fo Sony and 56.1 percent for Nintendo.
