NBA LIVE 10: Looking To Make Some Serious Noise

Over the past couple of years NBA LIVE has had some stiff competition in the form of the NBA 2k series which by many has been considered the best NBA basketball video game experience on the market. However, now that EA has placed Mike Wang, NBA 2K gameplay producer at the helm of their new NBA LIVE 10, keeping a grip on the torch of dominance might be getting pretty slippery for the NBA 2K faithful.
After playing the new NBA LIVE 10 demo now available for download on the Xbox 360 it is quite clear that users are now given a lot more control of over the players in order to create a real-life simulator feel to the franchise. This sentiment on NBA LIVE 10 has also been expressed by the faithful fans of the NBA 2K franchise;
dbswisha on the IGN forum writes;
So we’ve all been anticipating the Live 10 demo to see just how good it is this year. Afterall, Mike Wang former gameplay producer for 2k is now with Live.
Well men, it appears as if Live is indeed back.
The amount of control is better than 2k, the presentation is MILES better than 2k, the atmoshphere, player tendencies, shoes + throwback uniforms, off ball movement is better, there is a wide variety of fouls (hooking, illegal screens) etc.
The animations is miles better than 09, but maybe not as good as 2k. That’s the trade though. Live gives you way more control over your player, while 2k give you better looking animations but not as much control over your player.
It’s crazy the amount of progress they’ve made in one year seriously.
